LEE Chang-dong, Hong Sangsoo, BAE Doo-na and HA Jung-woo among new Academy Voters
Last month, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) welcomed its new members for 2018, which included a record 14 professionals from the Korean film industry, including an array of directors, actors, and below-the-line talents.
The list also includes veteran producer
OH Jung-wan, known for important works by
KIM Jee-woon (
A Tale of Two Sisters, 2003),
E J-yong (
Untold Scandal, 2003),
IM Sang-soo (
Tears, 2001) and
LEE Yoon-ki (
My Dear Enemy, 2008) among others, legendary production designer
RYU Seong-hee, who designed the sets of many
PARK Chan-wook and
BONG Joon-ho films, composer
LEE Byung-woo (
The Host, 2006), as well as longtime costume designer
CHO Sang-gyeong and sound designer
KIM Suk-won, who were both also involved in
The Handmaiden.
