KIM Min-hee was cast on the streets in 1997 and soon filled the pages of fashion magazines. Later, she officially made her debut in <School 2> in which she portrayed the rebellious character SHIN Hye-won. However, she later faced criticism for her acting skills in <Look Back in Anger> and <She Is Nineteen>. Nevertheless, she received recognition for her acting through <Goodbye Solo>, which was broadcast by KBS2 in 2006. Furthermore, 2 years later in 2008, she was awarded with the Best Actress Award in Baeksang Arts Awards as well as the Best Main Actress accolade from Busan Korea Film Critics Society for the movie <Some Like It Hot>. In 2011, she played SEONG Hyo-kwan in <Moby Dick>, a journalist who seeks the truth for a mysterious explosion in Seoul. Most recently she starred in <Helpless>, based on a Miyuki Miyabe novel. She received a number of Best Actress nominations for her role but her next leading turn, in the well-received romantic film <Very Ordinary Couple>, earned her the Best Actress prize from the Baeksang Arts Awards. She also appeared in E J-yong’s mockumentary <Behind the Camera>. 2014 saw her appear alongside JANG Dong-gun in the action noir <No Tears for the Dead>. KIM took on a new challenge in 2015, appearing in her first HONG Sangsoo film, alongside JUNG Jae-young. That same year she also received a much-coveted leading role in PARK Chan-wook’s highly anticipated new feature <The Handmaiden>, based on a novel by Sarah Waters, beside HA Jung-woo.
