Along with the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards, the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards is considered one of the three most important awards ceremonies in the Greater China region. Winners are selected by a combination of a judging panel put together by the China Film Association and a popular vote spearheaded by Chinese film magazine Popular Cinema.
