Kim Seonho Joins Youn Yuhjung and Kim Yunjin in DOG DAYS
JK Films Set to Produce Anthology Film
For the third time in as many weeks, rising star Kim Seonho has signed on to an upcoming film project. The Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha actor has been cast alongside the Academy Award-winning Youn Yuhjung and Lost star Kim Yunjin in the anthology film Dog Days (literal title), a new project from JK Films, the hit production company run by Ode to My Father director and producer JK Youn. The film will follow several characters as they find happiness while raising dogs.
Though he’s been active for several years, Kim Seonho enjoyed a sharp rise in popularity after appearing in Start-Up and is now on screens in the hit drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. He recently signed on to his first film project, Park Hoonjung’s Sad Tropics (translated title), as well as the romcom Two O’Clock Date with Lim Yoona. Kim will likely shoot his segment for Dog Days in between those larger commitments.
Veteran actress Youn is coming off the enormous commercial and critical success of her Hollywood debut Minari, which netted her the Best Supporting Actress Award at this year’s Academy Awards. She will next be seen in Im Sangsoo’s Heaven: To the Land of Happiness, which will serve as the opening film of the Busan International Film Festival next month.
Known internationally through the hit ABC series Lost, Kim Yunjin worked with Director Youn four times before, on Haeundae (2009) and Ode to My Father, as well as Harmony (2010) and last year’s Chuseok title Pawn, both of which Youn produced through JK Films.
The film will mark the directing debut of Kim Deokmin, who was previously an assistant director on the JK Films project Keys to the Heart (2018) and the Korean War film Operation Chromite (2016).
