Top Prize at Women in Film Korea Goes to NA Moon-hee

UHM Ji-won and LEE Su-gyeong Take Home Acting Prizes

Adding to her growing collection of trophies this awards season, actress NA Moon-hee has earned the top prize from this year’s Women in Film Korea Awards for her part in the drama I Can Speak. The event, which was hosted by Our Love Story star LEE Sang-hee (as well as NA’s co-star in I Can Speak), took place at the CGV Theater located by Myeongdong Station.

To date, NA has picked up Best Actress prizes from the 1st Seoul Awards, 38th Blue Dragon Film Awards (where she also won a popularity prize), 37th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, 17th Director’s Cut Awards and 4th Korean Film Producers Association Awards. I Can Speak debuted to strong reviews in late September and became a sleeper hit during the Chuseok holiday.

The Women in Film Korea body handed out Best Actress to UHM Ji-won for her turn in the kidnap thriller MISSING. Yongsoon lead LEE Su-gyeong picked up the Best New Actress Award.

LEE Hyun-ju earned the Best Director prize for her Our Love Story while the Producer Award went to PARK Un-kyoung, behind the year’s only 10 million viewer hit A Taxi Driver. The Best Documentary Award went to Director PARK So-hyun of The Knitting Club. Best Screenplay went to KIM Yang-hee, for the Jeonju Cinema Project The Poet and the Boy. The Technical Prize went to Bluebeard cinematographer UM Hye-jung.
