Active for over 50 years, NA Moon-hee is a veteran actress whose career stretches back to the 1960s Golden Age of Korean cinema. NA was born in Beijing in 1941 and the prolific actress became a popular TV actress in the 1970s and has remained a consistent presence on screens both big and small ever since. When Korean cinema reinvented itself in the late 1990s, NA found herself in some of the period’s most iconic films, such as KIM Jee-woon’s The Quiet Family (1998) and RYOO Seung-wan’s Crying Fist (2005). In 2007 she took on the lead in Mission Probable: Kidnapping Granny K and later played leading roles in the hit prison drama Harmony (2010) and the enormous 2014 Lunar New Year hit Miss Granny. NA is known for her matronly characters, at times motherly and affectionate or cantankerous, but always strong.
