Lee Sugyeong, born in 1996, received her first role in the 2013 short film <In the Summer> while she was still in high school. Having made a strong impression with her first major role as a red-haired drug addict in <Coin Locker Girl> (2014), she really launched her career in 2017 when she took on the titular role in indie drama <Yongsoon> and earned nominations for best new actress at all the main award ceremonies in Korea. Her support parts in <The Mayor> and <Heart Blackened> – coincidentally, both times as the daughter of Choi Minshik – brought her more recognition. For her performance as a woman accused of the murder of her father’s fiancée in <Heart Blackened>, she was bestowed with the title of Best Supporting Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2018, she was cast alongside Jung Jaeyoung and Uhm Jiwon in the comedy <THE ODD FAMILY : ZOMBIE ON SALE> (2018). In 2021, she starred alongside Park Jungmin, Lee Sungmin and Lee Yoona in the drama film <Miracle: Letters to the President>.
