CJ America Distributes Legal Comedy-Thriller

Just two weeks after its nationwide release in South Korea, legal comedy-thriller The Advocate : A Missing Body is set to bow in North American theaters on October 23rd, courtesy of distributor CJ Entertainment America. Starring LEE Sun-kyun, KIM Go-eun and LIM Won-hee, the film was previously known under its Korean title Angry Lawyer. The film will be made available on screens in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Seattle, San Francisco and La Habra.

The comedy-thriller depicts a lawyer who takes on a murder case lacking in evidence. He joins forces with a young prosecutor to unravel a mystery lying behind the crime. The Advocate : A Missing Body debuted at number three at the Korean box office and has attracted 982,591 viewers (USD 6.75 million) in 12 days.

Tackling his second feature, following 2011’s JUNG Jae-young and JEON Do-yeon vehicle Countdown which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, is director HEO Jong-ho. Leading the cast is LEE Sun-kyun, who most recently featured in last year’s Cannes-invited action-comedy hit A Hard Day. Joining him are ingenue KIM Go-eun, recently seen in Coin Locker Girl and Memories of the Sword, and veteran funnyman LIM Won-hee, of this year’s KIM Sang-jin comedy Three Summer Night.
