After graduating from the Department of Anthropology of Seoul National University, CHO pursued an MFA in Film Directing at the Korea National University of Arts. He started out as a short filmmaker with <Love Is the Will of the Body> in 2005, which he followed with <Memorable Excess>, <Going Together> (2006) and <Bong-su> in 2007. He then wrote and directed his feature film debut <A Camel Doesn't Leave Desert> in 2008. The film screened at the Independent Film & Video Makers Forum and the Seoul Independent Film Festival. Following an extended hiatus, CHO returned to the director’s chair with the romantic drama <Mood of the Day> in early 2016, which was made for Showbox. Starring YOO Yeon-seok and MOON Chae-won the film follows two young professionals who meet during an express train ride form Seoul to Busan and embark on a romance. The film was seen by over 650,000 viewers when it was released in January.
