The Project Aims to Produce VR Contents by Seniors until June 31st
Senior citizens over 60 are producing VR films. The 10th edition of Seoul International Senior Film Festival (SISFF) is running the VR project ‘Virtual Reality Planners in Wonderland’ from June 8th to 31st 2017. The project aims to produce VR content and to screen it at SISFF.
On May 16th, a lecture was held under the theme of ‘Understanding and Producing Virtual Reality’ at the Seoul Senior Welfare Center’s Tapgol Theater. The program introduced VR, a rather unfamiliar concept to the elderly, presented production cases of international VR films, and shared methods of planning and producing VR content. “I was excited to experience VR. It was a good chance for the elderly to learn about VR without difficulty.” lecture attendee LEE Seong-geun (74) told the Beopbo newspaper.
The SISFF’s venerable festival director Heeyou is said to have planned this project to help seniors expand their rights and interests. Additionally, this 10th SISFF will recruit the festival planners so the elderly can plan and operate the festival themselves. Created to promote interaction between the young and the elderly, this year’s edition of SISFF will take place from October 25th to 28th.
