- NA Hong-jin Nabs Best Director from Director’s Cut Awards

- LEE Byung-hun, KIM Min-hee To Take Home Top Acting Honors
The Korean Directors' Association has announced the winners of its 2016 Director’s Cut Awards, who received their prizes at a ceremony in the Cheogpung Resort Lake Hotel during this month’s Jecheon International Music & Film Festival.Following his recent top prize and audience award wins at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and two prizes from the Fantasia International Film Festival, NA Hong-jin received the Best Director prize for his hit horror THE WAILING. Meanwhile JANG Jae-hyun collected the prize for Best New Director for The Priests, another horror title.The top acting honors went to KIM Min-hee for her role in PARK Chan-wook’s steamy Colonial Era thriller The Handmaiden, and LEE Byung-hun for his part in WOO Min-ho’s Inside Men. Both performers have already received several global prizes for their respective roles. Best New Actress went to KIM Tae-ri, the breakout new star of The Handmaiden, while PARK Jung-min of LEE Joon-ik’s DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet has been selected for Best New Actor.Also to be awarded was Alice In Earnestland director AHN Gooc-jin, who received the Independent Director of the Year award and SHIN Yeon-shick was on hand to collect the Best Production of the Year prize for DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet.
