- Sympathy for Lady Vengeance triumphs at Blue Dragon Awards

- PARK Chan-wook's Sympathy for Lady Vengeance proved to be the big winner at the 26th Blue Dragon Awards ceremony on November 29, picking up Best Picture honors as well as a Best Actress award for LEE Young-ae. The film, which previously screened at the Venice Film Festival in August, sold over 3.6 million tickets on its release this summer. Other films that took home multiple awards included PARK Jin-pyo's melodrama You Are My Sunshine, which was presented with Best Director and Best Actor for HWANG Jung-min; PARK Kwang-hyun's Welcome to Dongmakgol, which won Best Supporting Actor for IM Ha-ryong, Best Supporting Actress for KANG Hye-jung, and a special award for top-grossing film; JUNG Yoon-cheol's Marathon, which won Best New Director and Best Music (KIM Joon-sung); and LEE Myung-se's Duelist, which won for Best Art Direction and Best Lighting. A full list of award winners is presented below. The Blue Dragon Awards is considered one of the top awards ceremonies in Korea, together with the Grand Bell Awards which are held each spring.
