Remake of French Thriller Stars RYU Seung-ryong
The Korean remake of French thriller Point Blank, The Target (working title), starring RYU Seung-ryong of All About My Wife and Miracle in Cell No. 7, started production last month.
The Target deals with the story of ex-mercenary Yeo-hoon who is inadvertently dragged into a dangerous situation and Tae-joon, a resident doctor who is trying to save his kidnapped wife, ends up helping him. The film is a remake of Fred Cavayé’s 2011 film Point Blank, starring Gilles Lellouche and Roschdy Zem, and CHANG (YOON Hong-seung), behind 2008’s Death Bell, is in the director’s chair.
RYU Seung-ryong plays the cool-headed but compassionate Yeo-hoon while LEE Jin-wook, who gained great popularity with the TV drama Nine: 9 Times Time Travel, takes on his first big screen role as Tae-joon. Other roles include the Metropolitan Investigation Team Chief SONG's, played by YU Jun-sang of Nobody’s Daughter Haewon and In Another Country; Detective Young-joo’s KIM Sung-ryeong of Mr. Xxx-Kisser and The Client; and JO Yeo-jeong of The Concubine and The Servant as Tae-joon’s kidnapped wife Hee-joo. The Target is scheduled for public release in early 2014.
