JANG Dong-gun and KIM Min-hee Team Up for New Thriller
JANG Dong-gun and KIM Min-hee will star in a new film by LEE Jeong-beom who directed The Man form Nowhere, which attracted over six million viewers in 2010. On August 28th, Dice Film announced that the movie studio confirmed JANG and KIM as the two leads of Crying Man (working title) to be directed by LEE.
Crying Man is an action thriller about veteran professional killer Gon and Mo-gyeong who becomes his target. Crying Man is JANG’s first work since A Gentleman’s Dignity, a Korean TV series that enjoyed strong popularity last year, and Chinese film Dangerous Liaisons by Korean director HUR Jin-ho. JANG was cast in the early stages of the project, becoming the center of attention in and out of the film industry while KIM decided to star in the film recently. KIM has been in her prime as an actress since the success of Helpless, a BYUN Young-joo film she starred in last year. This year, KIM picked up the Best Actress Award at the Paeksang Arts Awards for Very Ordinary Couple. KIM will play Mo-gyeong, a woman who develops a bizarre relationship with Gon in Crying Man, as she takes on another thriller following Helpless.
Crying Man will go into production next month when casting is finalized. The film will premiere in the first half of 2014.
