Among the Asian films on show at Fantasia this year, LEE Won-suk’s romantic comedy How to Use Guys with Secret Tips earned the Bronze prize for Best Asian Feature. Outside of features, YEON Sang-ho’s mid-length work The Window received a special mention from the jury, which said of the animation: “We recognize this film for its outstanding script and skilled realization of very difficult subject matter.”
This year’s Fantasia, which began on July 19th, was the fest’s biggest edition yet, experiencing a year-on-year increase of 15% and recording a total of 125,000 viewers. A total of 10 Korean feature films were screened, confirming the popularity of Korean cinema among genre film fans.
