Mr. Go, directed by
KIM Yong-hwa, will be released in Korea on July 17th and in China on July 18th.
Mr. Go is a full 3D film about the baseball playing gorilla Ling Ling and his trainer Wei Wei joining a professional baseball team in Korea, where he later grows to become a superstar. The day after its release in Korea, the film will begin meeting Chinese audiences at over 5,000 screens.
Mr. Go will be the first film released simultaneously in Korea and China outside of animations.
Mr. Go proved its global status by attracting USD 5 million in investment from Huayi Brothers, one of the three major studios in China, at a very early stage of production. Having raised curiosity of film fans with trailers for months, Mr. Go shows possibilities to build a bond of sympathy with the world beyond Asia.
