To Be Directed by JUHN Jai-hong of POONGSAN
Actor
RYU Seung-ryong has confirmed he will appear in the remake of the French film
Point Blank.
Point Blank is a French film about an average guy who gets involved in a chase to save his pregnant wife who has been kidnapped. It was released in Korea in 2010 and thanks to its tense action, it became the focus of much attention. The remake of this film is to be directed by
JUHN Jai-hong of
Poongsan.
The Korean remake of
Point Blank will be more narrative-driven with plenty of action. JUHN confirmed he would be directing it back in December of last year and the script is currently being adapted. RYU's management company said the actor is studying the script. He is currently shooting a period film about a real-life Korean admiral of Yi Dynasty, Yi Soon-shin, which will be released next year. RYU is to wrap up the shoot for that film and start working on
Point Blank afterwards. Expectations are high for the Korean remake of
Point Blank especially after the success of RYU's other films including
Masquerade and
Miracle in Cell No. 7.
