Director HONG Sangsoo and Actors Attend Press Conference
Director
HONG Sangsoo's
Nobody's Daughter Haewon, the only Korean film to make it to the competition section at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, failed to win the Golden Bear. The Golden Bear went to Romanian director Calin Peter Netzer's
Child's Pose at the award ceremony at the Berlinale Palast on February 16th.
Prior to that on February 15th, Director HONG Sangsoo and actors
LEE Sun-kyun and
JUNG Eun-chae were at the press conference for their film. The level of attention from international journalists was high as many of them had already seen the film. When asked about the location used in the film, HONG said "I tend to decide on a place and visit it. I make the film based on my feelings about that place."
LEE, when asked about working with other actors and director HONG, said, "This is my fourth film with director HONG. Working with him is always fun and I also get the flutters." JUNG said, "It's tough to do scenes after receiving the script only on the morning of the shoot but it was really fun and a good experience." Director HONG and the actors returned to Korea on February 19th.
