The Berlin File started screening at theaters at 5 p.m. on January 29th, 1 day before January 30th, its official release date, and it gathered 130,000 viewers in seven hours. This is the best score ever, even beating 151,486 set by
The Host in 2006.
The Berlin File started screening at 631 screens one day before its official release.
The Berlin File also set a new record with its booking share. According to Max Movie, a film booking web site,
The Berlin File took 60% of bookings on January 30th, which is the highest recorded this year. By virtue of this, the film topped the box office by selling 270,835 tickets on its first day (data given by KOBIS run by KOFIC).
