MAN ON THE EDGE Soars Above 1 Million after 1st Weekend
The Tower, a disaster film which is in its third week of release, drew in 512,589 moviegoers last weekend according to Korean Box Office Information System, taking the number two spot on the box office chart. The overall admissions for the film is now 4,454,983. The film surpassed the four million mark 18 days after its release and it was the first Korean film to do so this year.
Man on the Edge has gone past the one million following its first weekend of release. The film debuted in the number one spot on the weekend box office chart, earning 796,788 admissions over January 11 to 13. Foreign movies are also performing well.
Les Miserables has rewritten the history of musical films in Korea by drawing in 4,695,438 spectators and becoming the number one musical film in Korean history. The previous record holder was Mamma Mia! which drew in 4,554,785. Life of Pi has brought in more than one million in the 13 days since its release and the overall admissions for the film is now 1,019,908.
