Production Firm of TWO DOORS Deemed Year’s Best Indie Film Professional
The Association of Korean Independent Film and Video has chosen director
O Muel’s
Jiseul as the best indie film of 2012. The association named the director of the film which deals with the April 3 massacre of Jeju Island as the year’s best indie film director and Light Pink Skirt, the production company of the documentary,
Two Doors was named the Best Indie Film Professional of the year during a ceremony held on December 31, 2012.
Jiseul is director O’s fourth feature drama and revolves around the April 3 massacre of Jeju Island. It was first screened at the
Busan International Film Festival and the Seoul Independent Film Festival and will soon be seen at Sundance and the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
The Association of Korean Independent Film and Video said, “We want to show our support for Jiseul which will open at Korean theaters in 2013. We hope that this award will mean more viewers for the film.” The Independent Film Professional of the Year, Light Pink Skirt is a media community. The documentary Two Doors brought in a total of 70,000 admissions. The association said “Light Pink Skirt should be praised for its work so far and we want to show our support to the group as all indie film professionals should work together and be good friends. We will keep on giving the group an endless level of support.”
