Alternative Ending to Be Revealed in December
Director
JO Sung-hee's
A Werewolf Boy is set to be released in the U.S. and Japan.
CJ E&M, the film's investor and distributor, said on November 28th that the company is pursuing various channels for it to be directly released in the U.S. and Japan, adding that an alternative ending will be unveiled in December.
Until now, films that CJ E&M released directly in either of the countries starred a huge Korean Wave star or were big-budget blockbusters. It was the case with
Masquerade starring
LEE Byung-hun and the film may also be directly released in Japan next February. The reason for the possible direct release of
A Werewolf Boy is seen as
SONG Joong-ki's increasing popularity as a K-Wave star.
Meanwhile an extended version of the film including one with an alternate ending and other parts making up two minutes will be released at the beginning of December. The film is still performing strong at the box office, having accumulated a toal of 6,144,368 admissions.
