MASQUERADE Reaches 12 Million While A WEREWOLF BOY Crosses 6
Two meaningful records have been reached along with the 100 million spectators for local films mark this past week. Surpassing the record of
Taegukgi,
Masquerade crossed the 12 million mark on November 22nd as it recorded 12,001,875 admissions.
According to the
Korean Film Council's KOBIS,
Masquerade sold 12,035 tickets on 159 screens on November 22nd to breach the 12 million mark, 71 days after its release on Sept. 13.
The Thieves passed 12 million earlier this year in 32 days and 13.2 million in 70 days after its release, which broke the record of
The Host (13.1 million) to ascend to the top of the Korean box office.
Meanwhile CJ E&M, to celebrate
Masquerade’s 10 million breakthrough, is going to show a special 2-minute clip of 'The people that made the king' to the public on their online content curation service

The hit
A Werewolf Boy is also making news as attracted 4,300,000 audiences in 16 days, making a new record for a Korean melodrama, and has now broken the 6 million milestone on Nov. 25, 24 days following its opening. This puts the film in 3rd place on the 2012 Korean box office chart, and director
