Korean-American co-production THE LAST KNIGHTS starts shooting
Sovik Global Contents Investment Fund, established in 2011 with the aim of introducing the Korean film industry into overseas markets, has announced that its first Hollywood project The Last Knights began shooting in Prague on November 5th.
It's a project by Luka Production of Korea and Jay STERN of the Rush Hour series is one of many Hollywood producers involved in it. The Korean-American project has the aim of leading the way for Korean capital and production to enter Hollywood and many well-known Hollywood actors, production staff as well as their Korean counterparts are taking part.
The film stars Clive OWEN and Morgan FREEMAN.
AHN Sung-ki and
PARK Si-yeon are to play main parts in the film. Korean production companies will be in charge of CG and stunts, demonstrating the strength of the Korean film industry. It's to be directed by KIRIYA Kazuyaki of
Casshern and
Goemon. Producer Luci KIM, who has been liasing with both sides, said that the film featuires the participation of talents from many different countries and that she's happy that Korean capital has enabled the project to come to fruition.
The Last Knights is an action film set in unspecified era where a brave and loyal general (Clive OWEN) and his lord (Morgan FREEMAN) fight against a corrupt regime. It is set to be released in the winter of 2013 across the U.S.
