Summer blockbuster premieres in Hong Kong, will be released September 6th

The Thieves, which just captured second place on Korea's all-time admissions list for domestic films, will be released in Hong Kong on September 6th. Stars JUN Ji-hyun, Simon YAM and Derek TSANG showed up at the film's premiere and received a very warm welcome. It will be released on 32 screens in Hong Kong. This will be the second biggest Hong Kong release for a Korean film, following Haeundae's 36 screens. All-time admissions leader The Host was released on 20 screens.

At the gala premiere of The Thieves JUN greeted fans in Cantonese. When asked how she felt during filming, she answered, “Traveling between Hong Kong and Macao, I had a good time shooting and most of the actors were like family to me. It was a really good memory.”

She also commented on her action scenes that involved gliding from wires, saying, “I could have hired a double but I preferred doing it myself to make it more real and play a rough character.” YAM said, “I am very delighted because I heard The Thieves is very much beloved by Korean audiences. I would love to act in another Korean film if I get the chance.”
