  • Green Chair, This Charming Girl invited to Sundance competition

  • Two Korean films have been selected to the World Cinema Competition section at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. This will be the first year that Sundance, the most prominent film festival held in the U.S., will run a separate competition for international features. The festival will be presenting the world premiere of Green Chair by director PARK Chul-soo (301/302, Push! Push!). The film tells the story of a married woman in her 30s (played by actress SUH Jung of The Isle) who is involved in a relationship with a boy in his last year of high school (played by SHIM Ji-ho). OH Yoon-hong of The Power of Kangwon Province also takes a major role. The second film willbe This Charming Girl, which recently took the top prize in the Pusan International Film Festival's New Currents section. The debut film by director LEE Yun-ki tells the story of a woman who works at a local post office, whose present life is affected by a traumatic event from her past. Actress KIM Ji-soo won praise from critics for her performance in the lead role. This year's festival will be held from January 20-30 in Park City, Utah. A total of 16 films from around the world will be competing in the World Cinema Competition.
