Blockbuster Helmer KANG Je-gyu Returns
Busy actor
HA Jung-woo has reportedly received an offer to topline another major upcoming project. As reported by his management agency Artist Company, the star is considering the lead role in the period sports drama
Boston 1947, from tentpole helmer
KANG Je-kyu.
Boston 1947 will chronicle the exploits of Korean athletes during the Boston marathon of 1947, the first international marathon to take place following the end of World War II. HA has been offered the role of SOHN Kee-chung, the coach of the Korean squad that participated in the long-distance running contest, which included eventual winner SUH Yun-bok.
The film will see the return of director KANG, who opened a new era of big-budget filmmaking in Korea with 1999’s
Swiri and went on to even greater commercial heights with his Korean War epic
TaeGukGi: Brotherhood of War (2004).
