The Good Doctor, an American remake of the Korean TV series of the same name which aired on KBS, has received a full-season order from ABC. Foreign news outlets, including Variety, reported “ABC has given a full-season order to the Freddie Highmore medical drama after two weeks of airing.” on October 3rd.

ABC ordered five additional episodes to bring the total count from 13 to 18 when its episodes scored a 2.2% in the Nielsen Live+ adults 18-49 demographic since premiering on September 25th. The series revolves around Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with savant syndrome who begins work at a prestigious hospital and features Freddie Highmore who became a rising star through Finding Neverland (2004) and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005).
