- KIM Hee-won and LEE Ha-na Hit the Road for SUMMER VACATION

- Indie Director WHANG Cheol-mean Readies Road ComedyActors KIM Hee-won and LEE Ha-na have confirmed that they will appear together in the upcoming road comedy Summer Vacation (working title) from veteran director WHANG Cheol-mean.The story concerns a taxi driver and the young wife of a bus driver who go on the run and the two family members who go searching around the country for them by bus. KIM Hee-woon will play the bus driver while LEE Ha-na is on board as the taxi driver’s wife.KIM is a veteran character actor in Korea who has been active for the past ten years, accumulating several major credits including The Man From Nowhere (2010) and the recent Cannes invitee The Merciless. Known for her TV roles, LEE has also appeared in a number of films, including R2B: Return to Base (2012) and The Exclusive: Beat the Devil’s Tattoo (2015).WHANG will be getting behind the camera for the ninth time with Summer Vacation. Launching his indie filmmaking career with Spying Cam in 2005, one of his recent notable works, Oldmen Never Die, picked up the LG HiEntech Award for Best Korean Film from the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2013.Summer Vacation has also been selected as a recipient of a Korean Film Council art film promotion grant, with KOFIC praising the script’s story and characters as well as its charm and unexpected emotions.
