Fourth Korean Film Selected for Berlin Film Festival
Next February’s Berlin International Film Festival is taking shape as a major discovery grounds for Korean cinema as a fourth Korean film has been invited to the prestigious event.
SHIN Su-won’s
Pluto, one of the most talked about films at this year’s
Busan International Film Festival, will have its international premiere during Berlin’s Generation programme.
SHIN’s film, which offers an uncompromising look at cutthroat pressure and ambition within Korea’s educational system, will go up against world cinema titles such as Taiwan’s Touch of Light (also a Busan film) and Japan’s Capturing Dad, as it competes for the section’s Crystal Bear prize. The award will be handed out by the section’s youth jury.
