A total of 2,152 short films from 90 countries were collected and competed each other to be selected in the International Competition section of the ASIFF. Among them, 55 films from 30 countries won the chance to compete again to win awards and prizes in 9 sections where jury and special jury will evaluate them.
For ‘Traveling Shorts in Korea’, which started in 2010, 135 films have collected and 5 of them passed the preliminary trial and went to the final. The 5 films will be screened at the ASIFF this year and also at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan next year.
At ‘Focus on Directors: Cinema Old & New’, a special program of this year’s AISFF, globally renowned directors’ early and recent works are prepared in the line-up. The audience can meet rare short films directed by George LUCAS, Lars Von TRIER, Michel GONDRY, Jean-Pierre JEUNET and KIM Tae-yong.
It is a film that portrays the interesting process of evaluation by 5 jury members with different eyes and argumenta. The winner in the International Competition section will be screened as the closer this year.
The trailer of the festival was directed by PARK Jung-bum, who directed
