Box Office Records of Korean Top Stars
Local films are already dominating the first, second and fourth places at the Korean box office after only a month in 2017;
Confidential Assignment (5.87 million viewers),
The King (4.83 million viewers) and
Master (7.15 million viewers, released in December 2015) as of February 4th. One of the most noticeable points is that these movies starred actors who recently continue string of box office successes.
Master came in eleventh and fourth places at the box office in 2016 and 2017 respectively, although it was released on December 21st, 2016. Its main actors are
LEE Byung-hun and

Masquerade (2012) was in the second place at the 2012 box office with 12.3 million entries. He has been fairly well considering that he has worked in Hollywood. GANG’s record is also splendid. It has been a while after
Secret Reunion (2010), but he made a huge comeback with
KUNDO : Age of the Rampant (2014), which ranked ninth at the box office attracting 4.8 million audiences.
The Priests (2015) climbed up to 11th place with 5.44 million spectators and

The King. The latter darted to number one when the two were released on the same day.
LUCK-KEY (2016) landed seventh place at the box office in 2016 drawing 6.98 million admissions.
Meanwhile,
HWANG Jung-min hasn’t appeared in any film this year yet, but he has the strongest power at the recent local box office. He starred in
Ode to My Father (2014, 14.16 million viewers) which took second place in the all-time Korean box office and in
