The Age of Shadows, released on September 7th, attracted 3.2 million viewers in just a week. Although The Map Against the World was released on the same day, and new blockbusters like The Magnificent Seven and Ben Hur opened up for the Chuseok holiday, nothing interrupted the march of The Age of Shadows. That is The Attorney, released in 2013, ranked at the 10th place in the box office hit list, with 11.4 million admissions. His second best performer is The Host, which was invited to Cannes Film Festival. This film attracted 11 million viewers. SONG’s third and fourth best box office hits are Snowpiercer and The Face Reader, both released in 2013, attracting 9.35 million and 9.14 million viewers respectively. With The Attorney also released in the same year, 2013 was truly a golden time for SONG. His 5th best performer in terms of box office is The Throne, released in 2015, with 6.25 million admissions.

 

SONG has made another record with the success of The Age of Shadows. He has become the winner of the Chuseok holiday three times, in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Both The Throne and The Face Reader were released in the Chuseok season. When all the family members get together, you are likely to want a familiar face that every generation may enjoy. It looks like SONG has become one of such faces.
