Will be Directed by BAEK Seung-hwa, Star LEE Ji-won

Production has begun on the web-drama Omok Girl. The series, which features the traditional Korean games Omok and Badook, centers around a character who was once a Badook child prodigy but now spends her days working a part-time job at a Badook gaming hall.

The series will be directed by Turn it Up to 11 (2010) helmer BAEK Seung-hwa whose most recent credit is Queen of Walking (2016). Meanwhile child actress LEE Ji-won is set to play the eponymous ‘Omok girl’. LEE made her big screen debut in KIM Sung-ho’s 2014 hound-heist film How to Steal a Dog and most recently made an appearance in the mystery thriller RV: Resurrected Victims (2017). Rounding out the cast are PARK Sae-wan (Fente), AHN Woo-yeon (TV drama Strong Woman Do Bong-soon), JANG Haet-sal (Yongsoon) and KIM Jung-young (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter And Spring).

Omok Girl, which received support from the Korea Creative Contents Agency (KOCCA), began production on November 2 and will be released in the first half of 2018.
