Latest Pixar Film Scheduled for January
Pixar’s latest film
The Good Dinosaur, directed by
Peter SOHN, will open in Korean theaters in January of next year, following its stateside bow on November 25th. Disney’s animation studio is coming off of their biggest hit in Korea, after
Inside Out garnered 4.97 million admissions (USD 32.39 million) this summer, becoming the third most successful animated film of all time in the market.
The story in the film takes place in a reimagined timeline, where Earth was never hit by an asteroid and dinosaurs still room the planet. Arlo, a young Apatosaurus, who loses his father in a tragic accident, knocks himself unconscious in a river and is soon dragged far away from his home. As he tries to return to his homeland, he befriends Spot, a human caveboy.
Taking the directing reigns for the first time, after working on Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Wall-E, and making the short Partly Cloudy, is Peter SOHN, an animator born to Korean immigrants in New York. The Good Dinosaur is the 16th feature length production from Pixar.
