TOP SECRET INVESTIGATION Co-Stars YU Hae-jin
Top actor KIM Yun-seok has signed on to star in the new film from veteran director KWAK Kyung-taek,
Top Secret Investigation. Co-starring the Busan-set thriller will be character actor YOO Hae-jin. KIM will feature as a detective who desperately tries to find a kidnapped girl, even embarking the help of a shaman, played by YOO, along the way.
Director KWAK scored a hit last fall when he released Friend: The Great Legacy, the long-awaited sequel to his blockbuster gangster/coming-of-age film Friend (2001). The filmmaker, when debuted in 1997 with 3PM Paradise Bath House, embarks on his 12th project with Top Secert Investigation.
Since the late 2000s, KIM has proven to be on the country’s top box office draws, having featured in the hits Tazza: The High Rollers (2006) and Woochi (2009), and headlined The Chaser (2008) and The Thieves (2012). The star has been very active recently, starring in last year’s Southbound and Hwayi: A Monster Boy, while also having completed filming on Tazza 2 and Haemoo. Meanwhile, YOO is a reliable supporting star who has featured in dozens of modern Korean hits, such as Attack the Gas Station (1999) and King and the Clown (2005).
Filming for Top Secret Investigation will get underway in June in Busan.
