Born in 1989, JEON Yeo-been studied Broadcast Entertainment at Dongduk Women’s University where she got her first taste of acting, albeit without much conviction regarding her own ability in it. It was only around five years later that she started to think of pursuing a career in acting. One day, she was contacted by none other than MOON So-ri. The award-winning actress was about to make her own short movie about the life of an actress (<The Best Director>, 2015, which would later be included in the anthology <The Running Actress>, 2017) and had spotted JEON in a trailer for the Seoul Women’s Film Festival. Although she had had only extra bit roles with no spoken lines up to that point, MOON gave her the role without hesitation and has since supported her in her career. The first time that the public got to see JEON, however, was in the period drama film <The Treacherous> (2015), in which she had a supporting part. In 2017, she played a detective investigating a cult in the thriller TV series <Save Me>. Her stunning performance in <After My Death> (2017) as the main character struggling to cope with the suicide of a friend that she may have encouraged earned her the Actress of the Year Award at the Busan International Film Festival and the Independent Star Award at the Seoul Independent Film Festival. She also received the moniker of “freaky newcomer” from the media and film-goers. JEON has next been cast in <Forbidden Dream>, for which she played against CHOI Min-shik and HAN Suk-kyu.
