LIM Sung-mi, born in 1986, was studying acting at the Korea National University of Arts when she landed her first roles in short films and on stage. Noticed by BONG Joon-ho, she played the girl who talks with the titular character at a bus stop in <Mother> (2009). After appearing in KWON Oh-kwang’s <Collective Invention> (2015) and LEE Hyun-ju’s <Our Love Story> (2016), LIM made a strong impression with her turn as a young North Korean refugee who follows her dream of being a boxer in Jero YUN’s <FIGHTER> (2020), despite it being a role for which she only had a month and an half to prepare. Nevertheless, she took home one of the two acting awards handed out by the Busan International Film Festival in 2020. LIM could also be seen in the hit TV series <Crash Landing on You> (2019) and <When the Camellia Blooms> (2019).
