Born in 1974, Oh Nara joined the Seoul Performing Arts Company in 1996 and made her debut the following year in stage musicals. After she spent a few years performing in Japan in the early aughties as part of the local theatre company Shiki, one of the largest and most famous companies in Japan, Oh came back to Korea and was cast as one of the co-hosts of the TV show <TV Kindergarten – Funny Funny> between 2006 and 2010. It was after this first TV experience that she moved to series, first with the melodrama <My Sweet Seoul> (2008). After a first albeit short first film appearance in the romcom <Finding Mr. Destiny> (2010), she received several other bit parts until she landed meatier roles in the comedy <Dancing Queen> (2011) and the action comedy <The Spies> (2012). She followed this up with more comedy films, namely <Marriage Blues> (2013), <Casa Amor; Exclusive for Ladies> (2014) and <BECAUSE I LOVE YOU> (2016). Her fame went through the roof when she starred in the smash hit series <Sky Castle> (2018-2019), playing one of the mothers in a luxurious residential neighbourhood who stop at nothing to get their children accepted into the most prestigious universities.
