Born in 1968. HWANG graduated from the Japan Academy of Moving Images. He has worked as an assistant director for Our Sunny Days (1999) and Musa (2000) (both directed by KIM Sung-soo) For his feature directorial debut film My Wedding Campaign he visited Uzbekistan several times to develop the story and to put more reality in it.
