Starting relatively late at 34, his first role was in <Birth of a Man>. Three years later he appeared in the HONG Sang-soo indie <Tale of Cinema>, and since then has featured in an average of three films per year. Some of the versatile performer’s most memorable roles were as a priest in the drama <Maundy Thursday> (2006), in the thriller <Seven Days> (2007), as an innkeeper and deranged serial killer in KIM Jee-woon’s <I Saw the Devil> (2010), as an officer in the period action-comedy <Detective K: Secret Of Virtuous Widow> (2011), as a team leader in the romantic comedy-drama <Very Ordinary Couple> (2013), and as a dangerous hunter in the Jeonju Cinema Project <Snow Paths>, which debuted at the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2016.
