He became first assistant director the following year when PARK made his segment for anthology film <If You Were Me>, and assisted his mentor for <Old Boy> and <Three... Extremes>. He and his cousin JUNG Bum-sik made their directing debut together in 2007 with <Epitaph>, a horror film for which they won Best New Director at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. He signed in 2017 his sophomore film <The Tooth and the Nail>.
