Born in 1978, Yoon Kyesang’s first claim to fame was as one of the members of the K-pop boy band g.o.d in 1999, but he has since made his name as an actor on both television and cinema. In 2004, he left g.o.d to make his acting debut in <Flying Boys>, which earned him the Award for Best New Actor in Film at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Soon after, he appeared in the drama series <My 19 Year Old Sister-in-Law>. However, this was when he had to put his career on hold in order to fulfill his 2-year military service. Once he came back, he appeared in a series of movies such as <Lovers of 6 Years> (2007) and <Beastie Boys> (2008) as well as TV series like <Crazy in Love> (2007) and <Who Are You?> (2008). He was particularly admired by viewers for his roles in the 2011 movie <Poongsan> and the TV series <The Greatest Love> (2011). Yoon subsequently appeared in the 2013 erotic comedy <Red Carpet> as an adult movie director who has the aspiration to make a romantic comedy. Later that year he was back on screens as a public defender in the courtroom drama <The Unfair> (2013). After teaming up with Han Yeri in the romantic drama <LOVE GUIDE FOR DUMPEES>, Yoon began 2016 as an amputee in E J-yong’s <The Bacchus Lady>, which debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival. Switching his focus to TV, he appeared alongside Jeon Doyeon and Yoo Jitae in the Korean remake of the US series <The Good Wife>. After making a strong impression as a ruthless loan shark leaving a blood trail and fighting against Don Lee in <THE OUTLAWS> (2017), Yoon played a scholar risking his life to compile the first Korean dictionary in the historical drama <MAL·MO·E: The Secret Mission> (2018). In 2021, he took top billing in the fantasy thriller <Spiritwalker> (2020), winner of the Daniel A. Craft Award for Excellence in Action Cinema at the New York Asian Film Festival.
