Born in 1997, Yeo Jingu got an early start as a child performer in the 2005 multiple storyline melodrama <Sad Movie>. The next year he appeared in small parts in the drama <Apple> and the hitman film <No Mercy for the Rude>, while also getting his start on the small screen. He continued to raise his profile with small TV roles as a teenager, including in <Antique> and <A Frozen Flower> in 2008. Yeo finally made a name for himself through films such as <Giant> (2011) and, more particularly, <Moon Embracing the Sun> (2012). In 2013, he made the transition back to the big screen for his first leading role, in Jang Joonhwan’s long-awaited <Save the Green Planet> (2003) follow-up <Hwayi: A Monster Boy> (2013), in which he appeared as a child taken in and raised by a group of criminals led by the gruff Kim Yunseok. His praised role earned him the Best New Actor prize at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. In early 2015, he appeared with Lee Minki as a mental patient looking to break out from his facility in <Shoot Me in the Heart>, which was produced by Little Big Pictures. In the summer, he headlined the large Lotte Entertainment war film <The Long Way Home>, alongside Sul Kyunggu. He then starred alongside Lee Jungjae in <WARRIORS OF THE DAWN> (2017), playing as the future King Gwanghae. By sheer coincidence, he was cast two years later to give another take on the same historical figure in the period drama series <The Crowned Clown> (2019). He was catapulted to international stardom when he co-starred with IU in the hit fantasy romance series <Hotel Del Luna> (2019). More recently, he could be seen in the thriller series <Beyond Evil> (2021), and in 2022 he starred in the fantasy romance <Ditto> (2022).
