Following a brief appearance in BONG Joon-ho Mother (2009), SONG Sae-byeok seemingly came out of nowhere to appear in a supporting role in the period film The Servant (2010), for which he earned a bevy of new star awards. Harnessing the momentum afforded by that success, SONG quickly appeared in a number of successful commercial works that same year, such as Troubleshooter, The Unjust and Cyrano Agency. He next got his big break as a lead in the enormously successful romantic comedy Meet the In-Laws (2011). After some smaller parts in the monster feature Sector 7 (2011) and the sci-fi omnibus Doomsday Book (2012), SONG took the lead again in the 2012 comedy The King of XXX-Kissing. Following a bit comic relief part in the long-delayed period action-comedy in <The Huntresses>, SONG went through a big image change in 2014, when he impressed many with his performance as an abusive yet magnetic country father in the acclaimed indie <A Girl at My Door>, for which he received a Best Actor nomination at the Wildflower Film Awards.
