Having honed his skills while working on <Road Movie> (2002) as first assistant director, he made his directorial debut two years later with the sports drama <Mr. Gam’s Victory> (2004), based on the real life of an amateur baseball pitcher who ended up joining a professional team of the Korean league, albeit as a “mop up man” used only when the game is already lost. After directing AHN Sung-ki in his buddy cop movie <My New Partner> (2007), he moved to television and helmed in 2011 <Killer Girl K>, a three-part thriller film.
