Following her commercials debut at age four, KO Asung has been consistently active in TV and films. Her star rose sharply in 2006 when she starred in BONG Joon-ho’s blockbuster hit <The Host>, which she followed up with <The Happy Life> (2007) and <Radio Dayz> (2008). 2009 saw her take on a more difficult role as a handicapped orphan in Ounie LECOMTE’s critical darling <A Brand New Life> (2009). Following the films <After the Banquet> (2009) and <Duet> (2012), for her next project, she reteamed with director Bong for the highly anticipated sci-fi blockbuster <Snowpiercer>. Playing the daughter of SONG Kang-ho again, she appeared alongside many A-list international stars, the film proved a hit in the summer of 2013. She followed that up with the drama <Thread of Lies> in early 2014. 2015 was a busy year for KO as she next took part in the ensemble chamber murder thriller <Office>, which was invited to the Midnight Screenings of the Cannes Film Festival, played a bit part in the high concept romcom <The Beauty Inside> and entered the indie realm by playing a part in HONG Sangsoo’s 17th feature. She also filmed the Korean War-set drama <Thinking of Elder Brother>.
