LJ Film is a film production company founded by producer LEE Seung-jae. After a fruitful collaboration with KIM Ki-duk that produced some of the filmmaker’s most acclaimed works such as <Bad Guy> (2002), <The Coast Guard> (2002) and <Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring> (2003), LJ Film allowed LEE Yoon-ki to make his directing debut with <This Charming Girl> (2004), followed soon after by his sophomore effort, <Love Talk> (2005). In 2005, LJ Film partnered with CJ Entertainment, which had already opened several multiplexes at the time, for the distribution and exhibition of its releases. The company scored its biggest success the following year with the drama film <Maundy Thursday>, which welcomed 2.5 million viewers. In 2006, LJ Film was acquired and merged with Prime Entertainment, with LEE being put in charge of supervising the creative aspects of its film business.
