Director SONG Hae-sung has made powerful dramas such as Rikidozan: A Hero Extraordinary (2004), Maundy Thursday (2006) and A Better Tomorrow (2010) since Failan in 2001. Boomerang Family (a.k.a Aging Family) tells a comic but moving story through actors and actresses who have shown unique performances such as YOUN Yuh-jung, YOON Je-moon, PARK Hae-il, KONG Hyo-jin, JIN Ji-hee. The original story of “Aging Family” was written by CHEON who is famous for “Whale” and “My Cousin Bruce Lee.” The novel “Aging Family” enjoyed great popularity with a story about a funny family whose members do wild things when it was published in 2010.

“Usually people think that stories about families are simple and not interesting. But in detail, each family has its own unique stories and situations,” said director SONG who turned the novel “Maundy Thursday” into a movie. SONG added that inside families are a slew of disagreements and their implications. This film tells our stories through a family with a lot of common family problems. “Boomerang Family is a story about three siblings who return to their mother, refill their energy and start anew,” director SONG added.
