Da-seul (Yoo) is nine years old and has autism. Her family is of modest means, consisting of an uncle (Kim) who waits tables at a nightclub and a grandmother (Joo) who works at a local factory drying squid. Together, they live in a small village with a picturesque view overlooking the ocean. While Da-seul’s family sees her as a simple, mentally challenged child, it soon becomes apparent that she has also inherited an incredible artistic talent.

<Lovable> is the feature directorial debut of Park Chul-soon, who also made the 2008 short film <Bean Sprout Project>. <Lovable> had its world premiere at the 2011 Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival and won the Script Award at Korea’s 2011 Persons With Disabilities Film Festival.
